Main question: How to increase European plant protein self-sufficiency by integrating sustainable production of plant-based protein in different value chains and regions, taking climate change into account?

Focus Group 54: Local perennial plant genetic resources in view of climate change and biodiversity loss 

First meeting: 27-28 November 2024

Main question: How can the conservation and utilisation of local under-utilised varieties of perennial crops be attractive and profitable for farmers and thereby contribute to biodiversity-friendly sustainable farming under climate change?

Focus Group 55: Alternative solutions for livestock product differentiation 

First meeting: 20-21 November 2024

Main question: Which approaches are there to differentiate livestock products for enhanced market diversification and new business models?

EU CAP Network Focus Groups 

Focus Groups bring together 20 experts, including farmers or foresters, advisors, researchers and agri-business representatives, to collect and summarise knowledge on best practices in a specific field, listing problems as well as opportunities. 

They take stock of the state of play in research and practice, and highlight possible solutions to the identified problems. Based on this, the groups suggest and prioritise innovative actions. 

They identify ideas for applied research and for testing solutions in the field, and propose ways to disseminate good practices and inspire further action.
